Blogging, podcasting, wikis, Second Life, FaceBook--just a few of the social networking tools students use to keep in touch. Recognizing the potential power of new approaches to social networking, university instructors also are incorporating these tools into courses to enhance their students' learning experiences.

On Thursday January 17, the Center for Teaching, ITS, and the University of Iowa Libraries will host an event to explore the impact of social networking on teaching and learning.  We would like to invite all faculty and staff members who teach to join us for 4CAST2008:  Social Networking--Opportunities & Impact on Teaching & Learning.

Events will include:

   * small-group roundtable discussions

   * posters by ITS staff and UI faculty members

   * small group sessions for faculty members to showcase how they incorporate social

     networking into courses

   * breakout sessions for "hands-on" technology training

Thursday January 17, 8:30-3:30

Lunch will be provided

UCC Conference Center - 2520D, Seminar Room
